Head to Head DVD
Head to Head DVD - the most intense MotoGP rivalries of recent decades
'Head to Head' takes a look at some of the classic rivalries from the motorcycle racing's premier class.
We start with perhaps the most famous and spectacular rider feud of all time, between quarreling Americans Wayne Rainey and Kevin Schwantz (see note below), who made no attempt to disguise their contempt for each other both on and off the track.
Whilst Rainey and Schwantz were compatriots riding for different factories, sometimes the most intense rivalries can muster within the same team - as was the case with Mick Doohan and Alex Criville in the 1990's.
Two team-mates who did get along were 250cc stars Olivier Jacque and Shinya Nakano but the competitive rivalry between the pair brought about one of the most exciting head-to-heads in living memory on the track. We remember in detail their breathtaking battle for the 2000 quarter-litre crown, which went right down to the final corner of the final race at Philip Island.
